Tree Cabling & Bracing
Tree cabling and bracing is a process that utilizes metal rope wires that are interconnected between stronger trees and are used to uphold weaker trees and their branches. Tree cabling and bracing are best used for newly planted trees or trees that require some extra assistance in order to stabilize their roots and enable them to grow so that they can flourish on their own. This process is designed to improve your trees’ lasting integrity, as it can be challenging and time-consuming to repair them once they have been damaged or broken.
Tree cabling uses metal wires and ropes that are implanted into other, stronger trees’ bases and then connected to the weaker and more vulnerable trees. The idea is to promote balance and structural support between the trees so that you don’t have weaker trees snapping at the base or continually losing thin branches. If there are no surrounding trees that are stronger or there are only weak trees (such as recently-planted ones), the cables and braces can be implanted into the ground to offer support, so the new trees are not susceptible to tipping, cracking, snapping, or falling.
Tree bracing and cabling go hand-in-hand because the method is intended to offer strength and support to weaker, fragile trees. Cabling and bracing your trees do not necessarily have to be done to support weaker surrounding trees, as it can also be done to support one tree in itself. Some trees also have co-dominant branches that share the weight of the main tree base. When this happens, it can lead to the weight being shifted across the tree and the tree splitting or losing heavier branches gradually. Tree cabling and bracing can be used to reconnect the tree's co-dominant limbs so that the tree is not uneven, unbalanced, or without proper weight support.
Strengthening Your Trees
The main and ultimate purpose of tree cabling and bracing is to strengthen your trees and promote their longevity and wellness, regardless of their size or age. We provide tree cabling and bracing to trees that are in need of extra support and require protection when attempting to grow. Our main priority is to not only maintain the health of your trees but to strengthen them so that they can successfully prosper in and around your landscape, and throughout the community.
If you are looking to integrate trees into your landscape or already have existing trees that you would like to strengthen, we highly recommend tree cabling in bracing to achieve this. Trees are a great asset to many landscapes but they may also need some outside assistance from tree professionals to promote their strength and growth. Fortunately, we can offer tree cabling and bracing services for tree landscapes that need special attention and extra care. We use professional techniques to brace weaker trees with stronger trees and to support them using sturdy cables that are not damaging but also balancing.
